Why Marla Maples just moved back to New York

Maybe “developer-in-chief” Donald Trump’s ex-wife Marla Maples was at an event celebrating the launch of 57, a new publication celebrating the developing “Billionaires’ Row” on 57th Street at the Daniel Romualdez-designed model apartment for 252 East 57, a new luxury condo by World Wide Group and Rose Associates. Maples, we hear, has moved back to New York to be closer to her daughter, Tiffany Trump, during Dad’s presidential run. The building, at 252 E. 57th St., a 65-story curved-glass tower, is within walking distance of Trump Tower.

Elle Decor editor-in-chief Michael Boodro co-chaired the 12th annual Design on a Dime gala at the Metropolitan Pavilion with co-chairs Alessandra Branca, George Oliphant, Nicole Gibbons and founding chair James Huniford to benefit Housing Works, which helps New Yorkers living with HIV/AIDS and homelessness.

Guests included the evening’s bell ringer Billy Eichner, actress Rose McGowan and Adrienne Moore of “Orange Is the New Black.” Designer Jamie Drake and actor Zachary Quinto were among those honored at a gala dinner the night before the event, in which top designers stage vignettes that are for sale, piece by piece.

For designer Jenny Kirschner’s vignette, legendary fashionista Iris Apfel, 94, donated items including a Buddha garden planter, a large hand-carved Moroccan console table, a pair of painted Italian candlestick lamps and a pair of tall hand-carved pedestals that all sold quickly.

A one-bedroom co-op at Alwyn Court — 180 W. 58th St. — is on the market for $1.69 million. Current Alwyn Court residents include Jessica Hecht, now on Broadway’s “Fiddler on the Roof,” who also starred in shows like “Breaking Bad” and “Friends,” where her character Susan stole Ross Geller’s wife. Berkowitz’s 11th-floor apartment includes an oversize living room with crown moldings and a windowed eat-in kitchen. The listing broker is Corcoran’s Amy Goldberger.
